Daniel Marshall Cigars and Humidors Announces Exclusive “Cash for Cigar Clunkers” Program

Daniel Marshall Cigars and Humidors Announces Exclusive
“Cash for Cigar Clunkers” Program

Los Angeles, CA (December 11, 2018) – On the heels of the wildly popular “Cash for Clunkers” humidor trade-in program, Daniel Marshall has announced an unprecedented program, “Cash For Cigar Clunkers” and will pay customers for their clunker cigars. With the previous program, customers around the country were thrilled to trade in their clunker humidors for an upgrade to a Daniel Marshall. In the same way Marshall helped customers get into their dream humidor, he has designed his latest program to allow customers to elevate from their disappointing cigars to a cigar they can trust, a Cigar Aficionado 92 point rated Daniel Marshall Cigar.

Daniel Marshall is out to prove the attributes of the DM Cigar, the benefits of 1-year minimum box aging and is offering to pay customers for their partially smoked cigars. Every cigar enthusiast knows the feeling of being let down by a cigar where the expectation just did not measure up. Now disappointing cigars that did not draw or taste good can be redeemed for credit with Daniel Marshall.

The Daniel Marshall Red Label has received international accolades and “shares the shelves” with the best cigars, at the world’s most legendary and esteemed cigar merchants from Los Angeles to London, Dubai to Asia and Beirut. Dignitaries and celebrities worldwide enjoy Daniel Marshall cigars. Reported by Rake Magazine, in 2012 President Clinton bought the DM 24kt Red Label Golden Cigar at The Sahakian Cigar Lounge at London’s Bulgari Hotel. Business Week wrote on August 1, 2005, “The Governator loves his Daniel Marshalls so much he erected a smoking tent outside the California Capitol.“

Daniel Marshall Red Label Cigars made their debut in Cigar Aficionado’s September 1, 1997 issue. The balanced Nicaraguan Puro has an elegance, finesse and richness that define the DM Cigar. The Red is a cigar rich with chocolate and espresso, inspired by Marshall’s Saturday Harley rides up the coast with friends where he desired a cigar to evoke his favorite mocha.

“The DM Red Label was designed with a rich and smooth profile. My wish is for cigar “tasters” everywhere to savor the difference, quality, and benefits of box aging in our cigar rolled in Nicaragua, originally co-created by not one but two cigar legends, Manuel Quesada and Nestor Plasencia,” said Marshall. “Our Cash for Clunker Humidor program exposed cigar fans to the upper echelon of cigar aging and preservation, now it’s our goal to provide the same top quality experience with our cigars.”

To participate in the program, customers can request a prepaid mailing label from Daniel Marshall and send in their banded, partially smoked “clunker” cigars. In exchange, Daniel Marshall will provide a $2 credit per cigar clunker to be used towards the purchase of Daniel Marshall cigars at designated retailers nationwide.

Daniel Marshall Brings Modern Day Campfire to Historic Movie Studio’s Theme Park

Daniel Marshall Brings Modern Day Campfire to Historic Movie Studio’s Theme Park

Los Angeles, CA (Nov 7, 2018) – Daniel Marshall continues to take his “Modern Day Campfires” around the world. His latest creation, “Cigars Meet Movies” brought Marshall’s Campfire to the oldest movie studio in the world, Babelsberg Studio’s Theme Park in Potsdam Berlin, making it the world’s first cigar event in a major motion picture studios film park.

The storied Babelsberg began operation in 1912 and is home to some of the world’s most beloved movies such as Mad Max, Mission Impossible, The Hunger Games, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, George Clooney’s The Monument’s Men, Around the World in 80 Days with Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hank’s Bridge of Spies and the Bourne Ultimatum.  Guests of the event walked in the footsteps of film history’s iconic directors and stars, from Marlene Dietrich to Clint Eastwood.

Guests were treated to a private tour of the famous sets and iconic film property of Europe’s largest film studio, while enjoying their Cigar Aficionado 92-Rated Daniel Marshall Red Label Cigars. Following the VIP backstage tour of the theme park, personally guided by owner, Friedhelm Schatz, guests enjoyed cast and crew catering, unlimited drinks, and the opportunity to buy autographed boxes of DM Cigars and win raffle prizes.

The event, a collaboration between Marshall, Schatz, and Manuela Simon of Tabakhaus Simon, was a true reminder of the extraordinary friendships forged over cigars. According to Marshall, he and Schatz “previously met for half an hour, and two years later we are hosting a real ‘Mission Impossible’ Modern Day Campfire in his theme park. Without the power of the cigar to create this improbable friendship, this golden moment would never have happened.”

Marshall noted the excitement surrounding Berlin becoming the epicenter of art, film and culture. “I was so proud to bring the Campfire to Potsdam Berlin, a town where Sir Winston Churchill, Stalin, and President Harry Truman met during the Potsdam Conference to decide how to administer Germany and negotiate terms to end World War II, no doubt sharing a fine cigar during this historic meeting.”

Twenty-five years ago, Friedhelm Schatz, the mastermind behind the Filmpark, envisioned the park as it is today. Over 3000 visitors from around the world enjoy the park daily. Daniel Marshall was honored to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Mr. Schatz’s dream with a memorable night at “Cigars Meet Movies.”

Guests included a cross-section of Berlin’s diverse population including military officers, business tycoons, entrepreneurs, actors, producers, artists, and photographers. Marshall shared stories with the group correlating Daniel Marshall with Hollywood film greats who have experienced Daniel Marshall’s cigars and humidors including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Nick Jonas, President Clinton, and Steve Harvey.

Meeting Katya “Art Diva” Belinsky at the Intersection of Cigars, Art and Sensuality

Katya “Art Diva” Belinsky: Cigars and Sensuality in the Abstract

Virtually Friends

Facebook is a platform or place to like and to share – literally. The social media giant has infiltrated the homes and pocket devices of hundreds of millions around the world and it is the Internet’s premier place for personal self-expression, creativity, politics and personality. It is a place where virtual friendships are made and relationships forged.

Several years back, while www.GreatCigarEvents.com was promoting the Annual Rocky Patel Cigar Yacht Cruise, Katya Belinsky’s abstract art, in the spirit of Dali, Picasso & Cubism, caught my attention and we became virtual “friends” on Facebook and subsequently, true friends of mutual respect because of Facebook. After finally speaking by phone after several years, I was both amazed and impressed by Katya’s life and personal story, especially her art & cigar backgrounds, so much that I felt it necessary to share it with our subscribers and social platforms – Facebook, of course!

Freedom and Cigars

Born in Russia, but raised significantly in Germany and France, Katya Belinsky was the daughter of a cigar smoking diplomat. It is because of her father that Katya began to become aware of the pleasures of cigars during the Perestroika years in Russia; the period of time we in America equate with the Reagan years – a renaissance period of sorts that brought forth a taste of peace and freedom in an oppressive communist political climate.

Projecting the Soul and Inner Sexiness

Creative since birth, Katya’s art talents were cultivated and perfected at the Art Institute in London, where she further studied her craft and developed her own personal style influenced by Art standard bearers likes like: Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.

Cubism has been a great influence on Katya and is well recognized in most all of her recent works.

Wine, Rainbows and Cigars

The trademarks of Katya’s art are cigars, wine, colors of the rainbow, self-portraits or otherwise, the self-expression of a free-minded, sexy female cigar smoker who is able to ignite the lust and desire in a man.

Katya’s art is colorful, vibrant, alive and sexy; projecting her soul and inner thoughts.

Harvard, Hotels, and Google

One of Katya’s first creative endeavors as a professional artist was painting original art for hotels.

Business-minded as well, Katya, after art school, attended and graduated with an MBA from Harvard College, where she was a very close friend of fellow countryman, Sergei Bryn, who co-founded Google. They remain close friends until this day.

Throughout her evolution as an artist, Katya further developed her palate for Cigars and loves to pair them with wine; especially wine from South Africa, which she says has a distinctive taste on account of it’s unique clay like soil and that which pairs exceptionally well with oily tobacco.

At one point in time, Katya was a part owner of a cigar company that featured her artwork on the cigar bands.

Katya’s artwork is admired the world over and she has developed a loyal and exclusive following. One doctor purchased 30 of her unique paintings and has decorated his entire medical building with them. Katya’s “graffiti” art is featured in Google’s lunchroom at Google Headquarters, where she was asked to showcase her stylings.

From France to South Africa: Bringing Sexy to Lake Havasu

Once married to an airline pilot while she, herself, was a stewardess, Katya once lived in Nice, France and also –  South Africa. Enamored with the beauty and charm of these exotic locales; Katya now lives in an ultra-unique, custom built house in Lake Havasu, Arizona, that is a veritable art gallery and one that boasts a 360 degree view of the lake and city; the only one of its kind.

Lake Havasu you might ask?

Why not! Katya says that she fell in love with the area and quaint little town because it reminded her of those exotic locales.

It’s not only the content of Katya’s art that is unique, it’s also the “canvas” that she uses, which is not canvas at all but rather a unique industrial material that preserves and marries the oil, acrylic and watercolors perfectly well and is sturdy, durable, yet pliable – perfect for shipping.

The Intersection of Cigars, Art and Sexuality

Katya’s art is often a self portrait or near physical imagery of herself, but always expresses female empowerment and erotica, accented by wine cocktails and of course, her love for Cigars.

Interested in buying Katya’s art?

Katya can customize her art for cigar lounges and other venues both residential and commercial. Prints of her originals are available.

If you see one of her creations here on this page and love it, be sure to mention THE CIGAR NETWORK and the specific piece of art. The classy and thoughtful person that she is, Katya would like to make a contribution to our Grace for the Cure, a special fund and web page created for Gracie Sevilla (this writer’s young daughter who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes) and Gracie’s Type 1 Diabetes fundraisers and events.

We’re blessed to have met Katya “Art Diva” Belinsky on Facebook and to be enriched by her story, creative mind and soul – meeting her at the virtual intersection of Cigars, Art and Sensuality.

IPCPR & CRA Joint Statement on ANPRM Comment

Yesterday, IPCPR and Cigar Rights of America filed a joint comment in response to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s ongoing review of how it should define and treat premium cigars. This process, known as an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking – marked a major milestone for premium cigar retailers, manufacturers, consumers and the industry at large. It was an opportunity for IPCPR, CRA and other stakeholders in the industry to provide another evidentiary based justification for why premium cigars should be regulated differently from the direction the agency has thus far taken.

Through the comment, both IPCPR and CRA laid out a host of recently published data, collected and analyzed by federal agencies and scientists at the FDA. Through the analysis of the government sponsored data, the premium cigar industry found that:

  • Premium cigars are luxury items purchased and smoked infrequently by adults;
  • The average premium cigar consumer smokes as little as 1.1 days per month;
  • Youth engagement with premium cigar products is so minimal it was determined to be statistically insignificant;
  • Premium cigars are not used by consumers as an alternative or supplemental source of nicotine.

This data, published since cigar regulations went into effect in August 2016, counters the FDA’s justification for applying burdensome new requirements on the industry.

Scott Pearce, IPCPR Executive Director, recognizes these comments are a definitive step in the continued fight for recognition by the Federal Government. “These comments represent everything that is great about both IPCPR and the premium cigar industry.  They underscore the craft of premium cigars, the importance of the brick and mortar storefronts to local economies across the country, and the makeup of consumers who enjoy the products.  If heeded, these will help ensure a free and fair environment for our retailers to flourish in and continue the great cigar (and pipe tobacco) culture.”

CRA Executive Director Glynn Loope stated, “The Final Rule as issued by the previous administration was a solution in search of a problem. The studies and comments filed by the premium cigar industry last night provide substantive answers to the FDA solicitation for comment, with analysis and recommendations for relief from rules that 289 current and former members of the U.S. House of Representatives, twenty-six current and former members of the U.S. Senate have stated are burdensome, unfair, and go beyond congressional intent. Now, we can add a federal judge that has noted how unjustly the industry has been treated. Now is the time to correct this case study in bureaucratic overreach.”

With the comment period now closed, it is now up to the FDA and the Trump Administration to take the unassailable science and proposed definition provided by the industry and make the right decision. Change the structure of the Deeming Rule, define and exempt premium cigars and finally bring economic relief and a sense of certainty and security to thousands of small businesses and tens of thousands of Americans across the country.

Ken P. Neumann, President of the IPCPR Board of Directors, is hopeful. “One thing we have seen with this administration time and time again is a willingness to look at the regulatory status quo it inherited and say, “I don’t think so.””

While there is no required timeline or next steps for the FDA or the Trump Administration, IPCPR, CRA and the rest of the industry will continue to engage on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch, and advocate for a timely and just resolution.
